200 Gig Guides, and counting

Clearly things have been a bit busy around here because today as we’re preparing this week’s Gig Guide, we have realised that we send out our 200th Mostly Music Gig Guide last week!

And on this sunny start-of-spring day, this is feeling like a great reason to throw a fist pump.

Mostly Music began with a simple idea: to make it easier for people to find live music happening across Kāpiti and Horowhenua — and to help the artists and venues making it happen reach a wider audience.

Two hundred gig guides later, that idea has grown into quite the community.

We haven’t crunched the exact numbers yet, but at last count:

  • Our online Event Calendar has had more than 45,000 views

  • We have listed more than 2,500 gigs

  • More than 1,200 music lovers have joined our database

Behind every one of those numbers is a gig discovered, an artist supported, a venue visited or a music lover who found the cool new place to be.

A huge thank you to everyone who submits their gigs, reads and shares the guide, follows our channels, turns up to events and helps keep live music visible in our region. Mostly Music wouldn’t exist without the people who make the music, or the people who show up to hear it.

Two hundred guides down. Plenty more to come. If you need us, we’ll just be over here doing what we do best: spreading the word and sharing the aroha.
