[Ticket] Soundscape Series: The Weather Machine – 20 September
Mostly Music Soundscape Series: The Weather Machine
This is a GA ticket to The Weather Machine, Saturday 20 September 2025, 8pm (doors 7:30pm) at The Bond Store, 21 Birmingham Street, Paraparaumu.
About The Weather Machine
The Weather Machine brings an electrifying blend of soulful longing, theatrical glam, and retro-nostalgic indie rock to the stage. Their live shows are dynamic and heartfelt, weaving together lush arrangements, unexpected instrumentation, and soaring vocal performances. With violin, sax, clarinet, and layered harmonies in the mix, audiences can expect a genre-blurring experience that feels both intimate and cinematic. Whether it’s a delicate folk tune or a full-throttle rock anthem, The Weather Machine delivers each moment with passion, precision, and a deep love for musical storytelling.
The Weather Machine began as the brainchild of Portland, Oregon songwriter Slater Smith. What started as a DIY indie-folk project in the city’s vibrant underground scene has since evolved into a professional, internationally touring band. Over the years, they’ve shared stages with acts like The Lumineers, Alabama Shakes, and Cold War Kids. In 2021, Smith relocated to Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Aotearoa, bringing the project with him and forming a new Wellington-based lineup. Now spanning two continents, The Weather Machine continues to expand its sound with a fresh, collaborative spirit.
